However, freelance workers and independent contractors differ in several key ways: They have greater financial and professional independence than the typical employee who receives a salary and benefits for part- or full-time work. How are freelancers and independent contractors different?įreelancers and contractors both work for organizations temporarily. Doctors, dentists and lawyers are examples of independent contractors. These specialists usually take on larger projects for longer-term clients. What is an independent contractor?Īn independent contractor is a temporary employee who may work for many clients at once. A snowstorm brings a group of young people together. Talking about a target demographic, the casting department have managed to ram this film chock-full of Teen Choice-esque talent from Sabrina the Teenage Witch (Kiernan Shipka) to Isabela Merced (Dora the Explorer) to two, yes two, Spider-Man alumni (Shamiek Moore – Into the Spider-Verse and Jacob Batalon – Homecoming and Far From Home). Stories that seem, to me, to be trivial somewhat predictable and a little ‘fluffy’ may actually resonate strongly with some and so for that, shouldn’t be underestimated. On the surface, this film seems to lack the same depth and insight as Love Actually but that may be because it is marketed to a slightly younger demographic (as much as I might like to deny it, I am getting older!). Think Love Actually for teens and young adults. Narrated by a tinfoil-hat wearing Joan Cusack and featuring a who’s who ensemble cast of young up-and-coming talent, Let It Snow teaches lessons about love, friendship and family. Whilst the adults are all probably using the snow as a perfect excuse to stay indoors and not bother with the outside world, the teenagers are still out and about, and planning a kick ass Christmas Eve party. It’s Christmas Eve, and a small rural town in America is hit by a snow storm. First, we adapted a methodology employed by a number of academics who have been studying snowfall for decades. To study long-term trends and minimize data inconsistencies, Climate Central looked at snowfall trends in two ways. Different results can occur if observations were taken on a natural surface, pavement, on a picnic table, or on a “ snowboard.” Besides measuring actual snowfall amounts, there are also other types of snow measurements, including the equivalent water it contains and snowpack, which includes the depth of both old and new snow on the ground. Even during the same snow event, one community may receive a light dusting, while a nearby neighborhood with a slightly higher elevation may get a few inches.Įxamining how snowfall measurements are recorded is critical in comparing snow data across time and locations, including such things as observer instructions, time of observation, observer changes, and where the measurements were taken. Snow blows and drifts, it can become compacted, it can melt on contact. Snowfall is hard to measure with consistency and accuracy. That’s because warmer air “holds” more moisture-about four percent more per degree (F)-and that additional moisture can fall as snow when temperatures are below freezing.Īccording to ongoing academic research, warmer surface temperatures and reduced Arctic sea ice may also be leading to changing atmospheric circulation patterns that bring cold events to the eastern United States. In the United States, winters are the fastest warming season, the longest cold snaps are becoming shorter, and the number of days with temperatures below 32☏ is expected to continue to decline across the country.Ĭounterintuitively, global warming could actually cause colder regions to experience greater snowfall in the near to medium term. Common sense tells us that a warmer climate will have less snowfall, as warmer temperatures are likely to make the snow melt to rain before it hits the earth, or melt it quickly when it hits the ground. As the surface temperature of the earth continues to rise, it’s already impacting snowfall patterns and amounts. Temperature is obviously the major factor in whether precipitation falls to the ground as snow, ice, or rain. See full report Global warming and its impact on snow This report provides a primer on the climatology of snow and includes resources on how to report on snow-or the lack of it-in your area. The changing patterns of how much, when, and where snow falls have significant impacts on our climate, our economy, and our lives. We also compared total snowfall from the 1970s to the 2010s and ranked the 20 cities with the biggest percentage gains and losses, using endpoint analysis. Winter showed a mixed record, with more snow in northern climates, and decreasing snow in the southern regions. Results from 145 locations show that 116 stations (80%) had decreased snowfall before December, and 96 stations (66%) had decreased snowfall after March 1. In almost all areas of the country, snow is decreasing in the “shoulder” seasons-fall and spring. While no single overall national trend in snowfall can be discerned from the results, clear regional and seasonal patterns do emerge. Snow keeps our planet cooler, significantly affects water resources, and is a revealing indicator of climate change.įorecasting snowfall and determining long-term trends of snow climatology are inherently challenging, but the research team at Climate Central has produced an analysis of snowfall trends across the United States. Peach colored boxes are winter weather advisories and pink boxes are winter storm warnings.Whether you live among palm trees or pine trees, snow plays a critical role in our climate. Radar loop courtesy of Iowa Environmental Mesonet (IEM). The system finally pushed east of the region round 7am Monday morning. This long duration winter storm resulted in snowfall totals between 9 and 15 inches across the Metro Detroit area, with slightly lower amounts across the Thumb and Saginaw Valley regions (3-6 inches). Better moisture arrived by mid-afternoon resulting in heavier snowfall rates (up to an inch per hour in some locations). Snow began in the southern counties around 1am Sunday and continued throughout the day on Sunday. Then came the storm that ended up dropping over a foot of snow at Detroit Metro Airport!Ī strong low pressure system developed across the Great Plains and drifted across lower Michigan on Sunday and Sunday night. Up through the end of January, areas were below normal for snowfall compared to the record breaking winter season of '13-'14. Over the past few months, the area had managed to avoid a lot of the snow while other states have not had such luck. February started off quite active, as a long duration snow event unfolded across the region bringing the first significant snowfall to Southeast Michigan this winter season. A wiring diagram is a visual reference tool that is essential for any installation, providing invaluable information on which wires go where and what connections need to be made. Installing any electrical system can be a complex task with potential safety hazards. Here, “Point A” symbolizes the power source, and “Point B” symbolizes the device that is being powered. The Positive diagrams identify the components that require a positive voltage connection, and the Negative diagrams identify the components that require a negative voltage connection. The Positive and Negative diagrams will show the flow of current in terms of “hot” and “neutral” wiring. These diagrams are used to determine the total rating of the current system, the voltage needed to operate the cart, and the total power used. It also shows the connections between the components and their respective functions. The battery and controller diagrams show the flow of electrical current as it passes through the individual components. This diagram identifies each component, provides the label or number it carries, and, if applicable, the type of wiring used. This section shows the main components that make up the entire electrical system, including the battery, motor, controller, switch, and all associated wiring. There are four main sections, which include the main diagram itself, battery and controller diagrams, diagrams for Positives, and diagrams for Negatives. The wiring diagram for the 2000 Club Car 48v is very similar to a road map, with lines and symbols to show how the wiring should be laid out. It can also be used as a reference when replacing components or making repairs. A wiring diagram can help identify components, troubleshoot circuits, and assist with installation. Wiring Diagram OverviewĪ wiring diagram is a graphical representation of a circuit, showing all of the components, the connectors, and their functions. Knowing how circuits are arranged and how they interact with each other allows us to design a power system that operates at its highest level, while staying at its most efficient. Implementing a safe and efficient power system requires understanding the components involved, so here we will take a closer look at the 2000 Club Car 48v wiring diagram. Steve Hatcher, our Warehouse Manager, got his start in the shipping department in 2001. With her background in office management, she has been an integral part of our team. She oversees human resources, accounts payables, and accounts receivables. Linda Brownlee, our Office Manager joined the company in 2000. Over the past two decades, the core team continues to improve on their unique skills and bring the best customer service and the best value of quality products to our customers. Charlie and Chuck Bailey later retired, from the business, in 2012. Over the years, other seasoned veterans from the billiard industry joined the company and brought insight and experience to the team. A few years later, we established a separate company called The Level Best, to import and distribute billiard pool table accessory kits and game room furniture to their dealers across the country. As the company grew, we expanded our capacity with furniture finishing solid wood pool tables. The very first table we engineered and built was the Addison Pool Table. was founded in 1999 in Marionville, Missouri by the father and son team, Charlie & Chuck Bailey. The light focuses attention on the entire playing area without drawing attention to itself. It will be produced only at a volume that assures the very highest quality for each unit.ĭIAMOND craftsmanship and philosophy encompasses each element of any single game of billiards, including the lighting, the balls, the cloth and even how comfortably the players sit between runs on the table.Īs befits a DIAMOND, the understated elegance of the wood matched Diamond table lighting fixtures is uniquely simple a light designed to uniformly illuminate the entire playing surface thus eliminating all shadow and contributing to our DIAMOND luster. These rigid specifications and the large amount of hand craftsmanship mean that the DIAMOND will never be a mass production unit. Carefully sculptured from solid hardwoods, each table is pre-assembled at the factory by hand and tested to assure that strict specifications are met. Because the DIAMOND was truly designed by players for players and not by manufacturers, it contains design features found in no other table in existence, features which make each DIAMOND the standard of the industry for tournament play, for commercial pool rooms and for the home.Įvery facet of the DIAMOND is manufactured to exacting standards. Since its inception, the DIAMOND PROFESSIONAL has been through over 100 major tournaments and many changes and refinements. Other features were refined in the same way. For example, various specifications which determine the degree of difficulty or ‘tightness’ of the pockets, such as the ‘cut angle’ and pocket size, were continuously changed to find just the ‘right’ configuration. Achieving that goal had three strategic elements: (1) using the table in major tournament events, (2) seeking comments and advice from experienced, top professionals about the table’s ‘playability’, and, (3) heeding those comments by adding features and making refinements that improved its performance. In 1987, a group of dedicated pool players in Louisville, Kentucky formed a small company based on a simple but unique idea creating a table that would so surpass all others in quality and craftsmanship that it would become the standard for national and international tournament play.
